International Conference "New Technologies and International Legal Accountability," scheduled for October 22–23 in Perugia
The rapid evolution of cyber technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of international law.
The conference, organized by the LEPA Center and the Department of Political Science at the University of Perugia, with the support of the European Society of International Law, will bring together scholars and professionals to examine how international law governs cyber and AI-based operations, as well as issues related to state and individual responsibility and the role of European Union law.

On June 11, 2026, the LePa Center for Studies and Advanced Training participated in the presentation of the book *Volunteers for the Community. The Benefits of the Fourth Sector, an open-access book that compiles the lessons and experiences of a school open to everyone—where no registration is required, attendance is not mandatory, and participation is completely free—to whose organization the LePa Center actively contributed.

On June 12, at the Dessau Hall – Palazzo Murena in Perugia, the national conference “The Functions of the Court of Auditors and the New Balances Established by Law No. 1/2026” took place. The event, organized by the LEPA Research Center and the Dem.e.tra association, took place from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with free admission. The program, divided into a morning session (chaired by Prof. Francesco Merloni) and an afternoon session (chaired by Prof. Giovanna Colombini), addressed the following topics: the new paradigm of accounting jurisdiction following Judgment No. 132/2024; the constitutional compatibility of Law No. 1/2026; administrative liability; control and advisory functions; the principle of results; and the principle of distinction; and
The LePa Center for Studies and Advanced Training supported the organization of the workshop “The Media Capture Risk Map: Insights and Applications,” an international event dedicated to the presentation of the first interactive map measuring democratic threats within the information system across all EU countries, developed as part of the HORIZON BRIDGEGAP project. The workshop took place on Saturday, May 23, at the Palazzo Bernabei in Assisi.
On May 22, 2026, the conference “Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Limits for Public Administration and Anti-Corruption” was held, organized by the LePa Center for Studies and Advanced Training – Legality and Participation, at the Dessau Auditorium – Rector’s Office, Piazza dell’Università 1, Perugia. Representatives from various institutions, researchers from around the world, and students participated in an open discussion on the challenges of AI.
